U12 winners from St.Petersburg

April 21, 2021: Chess Profi (St. Petersburg, Russia) achieved their first win in the top U12 League. Another great tournament was played today, with many strong and numerous teams. As much as it was intense at the top, it was even tenser in a struggle to stay in Center A. In the previous edition, Russian team came very close to winning but dropped it in the last minutes to Moksleivių šachmatų klubas (Lithuania). This time, Russians didn’t allow any surprises, congratulations! Irish Juniors came third. 167 players participated in the top league.

Сборная Шахты and Ученики И.Погорелова ended tied for the first place in Center B, another very strong tournament. Boca Junior secured third place and promotion to Center A for the next event.

Three teams from Center C will be promoted: SV Isental, СШ 2 Кстово, and ESCUELA MUNICIPAL DE AJEDREZ ESTEPONA 1985. Three best-placed teams in group Center D were Минский ветер, CCSA U12 Team 2021, and U12 Mouflon Chess Team.

Center U8 League saw two teams tied up for the first place: U8 Türkiye and Latvia Junior Chess. In this kind of situations, the organizers tend to agree with Lichess final standings and declare the win for Turkish team. Last time winners, Moksleivių šachmatų klubas, had to settle for third place.


All-Indian podium in Division East: ChessNut Academy managed to achieve a win. Winning team was made of these players: Ronak Hiwale, Akshaj Patil, Vageesh Swaminathan, Jay Sawalakhe, Darshan Hemant Savakare, Aaranavv Dhananjay Totla, Sharveel Chouridule, Akshata Jain.

Close second place for Champions Chess Academy. Eminent Chess Academy finished third.

East U8: Chess Training Foundation (India) came first, followed by Sharp Kids Diamonds (Philippines) and ChessNut Academy (India).


Division West: Win for Arriba PERÚ. Second place for Rey de reyes Chess Kid (Peru). Third for The Knights of Chess (Canada). West U8 saw another convincing win by Circuito Nacional FENAMAC.


A total of 789 players participated in this edition of U12/U8 League. Next League is scheduled for May 5.

3rd Worldwide Festival will be held on April 24.
