UPDATE: 2nd Worldwide Festival results
The Second Edition of Worldwide Junior Chess Festival will be played on March 27, 2021. The Festival will be a great opportunity for young players to play in Swiss tournaments, Arenas, and puzzle-solving competitions: to enjoy chess all day!
The Festival will be held on Lichess. Children will be playing on the platform where they compete in Worldwide League.
Update from the First Edition: the competition is now open to all U16 players (children born in the year 2005 and later), and there will be separate Swiss tournaments for U8, U10, U12, and U14/U16 categories.
The system of play for the main events, the two Rapid tournaments, will be Swiss 6 rounds, using Worldwide standard time control 10+2 (10 minutes starting time, plus 2 seconds increment on each move). The expected duration of each tournament is about 2.5 hours.
- Swiss tournament age categories:
- U8 – born in the year 2013, 2014, 2015
- U10 – born in the year 2011, 2012
- U12 – born in the year 2009, 2010
- U14 – born in the year 2007, 2008
- U16 – born in the year 2005, 2006
Arena tournaments will be held on: Friday Festival Opening, Saturday Warm-up, and Saturday Blitz Afterparty.
A new special event is Puzzle Storm competition: tactics puzzle-solving contest to be held on Saturday afternoon, in-between two main events. Important: Players must not play any Puzzle Storms on the day of the Festival, nor the day before (no Puzzle Storms practicing on March 26 and 27, except during one hour of competition).

Every player will receive a digital Certificate of Participation.
Award Certificates for three best placed players in Swiss tournaments, in each of the age categories: U8, U10, U12, U14, and U16.
Female Category Certificates for winners in the same categories.
Swiss tournament winners in each age category will get an opportunity to be featured on the Festival Gallery.
Recognition for winners in Puzzle Storm competition (three best overall).

Registration phase begins on March 5, and closes on March 26, 2021. Registration fee is €5 EUR.
The Registration fee is valid for all tournaments during the Festival. Kids can play in one or more tournaments, whatever is best for them, in regards to the time difference, and can enjoy chess all day.

All players should abide by the rules governing fair play.
Every participant has to declare himself as an honest player.
The use of unfair assistance is strictly forbidden. All players are expected to make their own moves throughout the game, without any help from other people or any kind of software.
Worldwide Junior Chess Festival is an Online chess competition event (Annex 6.4 Fide Online Chess Regulations, 6.1.1.).
